Architectures

Hi,

I've noticed that in the packages section the components are at the moment x86_64 on the main page however it states that archbsd supports i686 and x86_64 - where are the i686 packages? My PC only supports i686.

Re: Architectures

I haven't built them yet, working on rewriting base PKGBUILDS, then x86_64 and i686 packages will be built together. I've only been building x86_64 for testing builds to make sure they are working correctly.

Re: Architectures

Fair enough - thanks for saying though that i686 packages will eventually be built at least then I'll be able to place ArchBSD on my desktop once it's ready.

Re: Architectures

Good to hear, Beastie! I'm looking at getting a PandaBoard soon and of course already have a Raspberry Pi, so will be willing to throw some weight into the ARM release. Other than seeing the arm directory in /sys I've no idea of the state of BSD on ARM.

Re: Architectures

I've got a bunch of GuruPlugs from work, I can definitely obtain a few for ARM testing.

Of course ARM runs NetBSD…

FreeBSD's ARM support is Tier 2: http://www.freebsd.org/platforms/arm.html ; interestingly enough it looks like they're taking a lot of code from NetBSD.
