Spam in ArchBSD Wiki

Since January 31th, ArchBSD Wiki is becoming target of spammers, as can you see at: http://wiki.archbsd.net/index.php?title … s=30&from=

Please, Amzo (or everyone else having admin role), could you turn off wiki page for now?

Or (if it's possible), could you deny subscriptions for wiki editing and give them under requests that are made by *active* users?

Please guys, I know the work to do is a huge amount, but the usefulness of our wiki is being obscured by spam.

Best regards,
dvorak

Re: Spam in ArchBSD Wiki

I've disabled registrations and anonymous editing at the minute. I'll add some anti spam features later on tonight and tidy it up.

I cleaned up the most part and added captcha for editing.

Re: Spam in ArchBSD Wiki

I tried to click repeatedly on "Random Page" and no spam page is appeared.

Great job!

PS: The following link is a list of all remained spammers: http://wiki.archbsd.net/index.php?title … desysops=1

Thank you again, Amzo.

Re: Spam in ArchBSD Wiki

The main problem is the possibility for everyone to create an account in the wiki.
I think it would be better to deny it and leave that privilege only to the Administrator(s).
If someone wants to make a wiki page, he should send an email to Amzo (or any Administrator else).

Re: Spam in ArchBSD Wiki

The captcha is most like the issue, I might use the same method I use on the forum, which seems to prevent spam bots from registering on the forum.
